Assessment
Your knowledge is not tested on exams alone. We use multiple assessment methods because real business skills show up in different ways. Throughout each semester, you will demonstrate competency through varied approaches that reflect how business actually works.
Assessment methods used:
- Presentation – Pitch your ideas, defend recommendations, communicate persuasively to diverse audiences
- Writen assignment – Reports, analyses, business plans, proposals – you will write professionally
- Case study analysing – Examine real business scenarios and recommend solutions based on evidence
- Portfolio of evidence – Compile your work across the semester showing your learning journey and growth
- Reports writing – Formal business reports with findings, analysis, and actionable recommendations
How assessment works:
You will be assessed regularly throughout each semester, not just at the end. This means you get feedback early and often. You will understand what is working and where to improve, so there are no surprises when the grades come in.
In addition to these practical assessments, you are also required to take a TVTC Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) examination at the end of each semester. This standardised exam ensures your knowledge meets Saudi Arabia's vocational training standards and complements your practical work.
Assessment breakdown:
- Practical Assessments (50%) – Presentations, written assignments, case studies, portfolios, reports
- TVTC MCQ Examination (50%) – Standardised exam at semester end
Grading scale:
Pass, Merit, Distinction — showing the depth of your learning and exam performance combined.
Self-study expectations:
Success on this course depends heavily on your independent work. You will need to:
- Complete research outside of classroom hours
- Finish homework tasks on schedule
- Participate actively in group activities
- Engage in self-study between sessions
This is not a passive learning process. You are taking responsibility for your education. Lecturers will guide you on how to manage your learning effectively throughout the study period, but the effort comes from you.
Why this matters:
These assessment methods prepare you for real work. You will present to colleagues, write reports to management, analyse business problems, and build portfolios of your work, exactly what you will do in a job.
